I don’t see a backup where would I find it?
Does every phone have a backup? I’m not finding mine.

It would only have a backup to iCloud if you turned on that option. See: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
You cannot view the contents of a backup; you can only use it do to a full restore of a device or to setup a new device.
You can see the time of the last backup (and turn iCloud Backup on) by going to Settings > [username] > iCloud > iCloud Backup.
You can view the size of any backups by going to Settings > [username] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups.
