Macbook Air Monitor Display

I have a persistent black screen on the right 2.5 inches of the screen. Window underneath it is there but is covered. I have restored and did a deep scan. Nothing comes up.

Is this a monitor issue or am I missing a fix?

Can you post a picture?

Kind of hard to offer suggestions when we don't know exactly what you see.

Also, does the black screen show up when you take a screen shot? Press Cmd+shift+3 on your keyboard to take a screen shot.
