Trying to Download Monterey OS. Software Update dialog box never gets past "Finding Update"

Greetings:

I have been trying to download Monetary OS for several days with no luck. I have tried both through the Software Update icon in System Preferences and through the App Store. Both times the dialog box never gets past "Finding Update" with the bar moving back and forth. I am currently running Big Sur 11.6.6 on my 17inch MacBook pro from 2017. I have over 178 gig left of 1T of space. I have shut down and rebooted several times, checked my wifi, and tried accessing the update from different locations. Nothing has worked. Any ideas? Thanks!

Full macOS 12.5.1 download  ~12.1 GB. Installing this package will add the full “Install macOS Monterey.app” to your applications folder. You launch it from there like any other application .
