Helping elderly with ipad use from 3000 miles away!?

Would having two iPads with the same Apple ID help me help my elderly dad when he can’t figure out how to do or UNdo something on his iPad?

No. Having users share an AppleID is unlikely to aid remote resolution of issues. All users should have their own unique AppleID - used only with their own devices and Apple services.

When using iPad, you’ll not be able to remotely access or control your Father’s iPad, but you will be able to use FaceTime - and if you are both using iPadOS 15.1 or later (and different AppleIDs) can share your screens.
