2010 iMac to 2022 iMac, how to transfer only some files (iTunes, photos)

I've used time machine to back up a 2010 iMac, but it comes up with 255 gb of data/files, which is too much for the new 2022 iMac migration assistant to bring in. How can I easily move _only_ some music and photos over? A massive export/import? What port does my 2010 iMac have (USB 1 or 2)? does this matter? THANKS

iMac, OS X 10.11

Ah, I see. I’m afraid Migration Assistant can’t be that selective. You can try connecting them, then using Target Disk Mode to transfer the desired files- Transfer files between two Mac computers using target disk mode - Apple Support
