Working on text boxes

How do you delete or change text boxes in numbers? When I click on the text box I want to work on, the cell in front gets highlighted, but nothing happens to the text box.

iMac 24″, macOS 12.5

Do you have a text box behind a table? It is just like papers on a desk, you can't touch the one underneath even if the one in front is see-through. Select the table and slide it out of the way or use the menu item Arrange->Send to Back.
