Water Damage- Black Screen

Hey so while on holidays my MacBook Pro got splashed with a good amount of water from the pool.

I wiped it off quickly and it was ok for a few minutes until the screen started to go black.

I turned it off and back on again, the keyboard lights up and makes sound, you can see the screen is lighting it but it remains black.

is this something that can be fixed?

or do I need to get a new computer?

Hi, GreenPickles, Yes, this is something that can be fixed, but you'll have to make an appointment with your local AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) or the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store..........and take it in for service/to be fixed..... if you can borrow a spare monitor,or get close enough to your TV, your MacBook may have a video out connection of some kind, which you can use to connect the monitor or connect it up to your TV, unfortunately, I don't know what model and year of MacBook you have, just that you have one, and you have water damage..... as for you needing to get a new computer, well, not yet..first take your MacBook in for service/to be fixed, and see what they have to say, and what sort of repair bill you'd be looking at....only afterwards, you can decide if you need to get a new computer or not.
