forgotten passcode

I fixed my broken iphone screen but forgot the passcode as i havent used it in a couple months. I know my apple id and password and also have an ipad that is a trusted device, but it only runs ios 9. Is there a way i would be able to change my passcode for my iphone through my ipad or through icloud.com or appleid.com? I thought i used to be able to change it through my ipad in the past.

iPhone 8, iOS 14

No, you cannot change it through your iPad. You will need to reset it.
