iPhone will not update to 16. It should be able to do so.

iPhone not updating. All requirements are met.

Check iOS 16 -> iOS 16 - Apple

  


Go to Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Download and Install.

You need about 6 GB device storage and good Service & Wi-Fi.

If they are On, turn Off Hotspot & VPN.

Set Auto-Lock to Never.

Charge the battery > 70%.
