Apple TV remote charging

I charged my Apple TV remote for many hours and the screen still tells me to “charge soon “ . I wonder if this means my remote is done for

Apple TV 4K, tvOS 16

What is your model remote? Identify your Apple TV remote - Apple Support

How old is it? How long did you have it? Rechargeable batteries will degrade over time (years), so the oldest may need servicing at some point.


Please verify that you charged it using the intended method: through a computer USB port, or through a power adapter is an AC socket. Charge the Siri Remote - Apple Support. Charging for 30 minutes should be enough for short term use, and charging for 3 hours should be enough for “100%” battery charge level.


If the issue persists, then contact Apple Support.
