Built in camera is not working on MacBook pro

Trying to figure out how to fix my built in camera on MacBook Pro 2017. I've already ensured software update, restarted, and checked the privacy setting. Camera is not being recognized through FaceTime or PhotoBooth. Not sure what else to try.

Hi karls00,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Re: Built in camera is not working.

You have made a great start at troubleshooting.

Apple support's article (link below) also suggests resetting the SMC

If your built-in camera isn’t working on your Mac - Apple Support

Sometimes third-party (non-Apple) apps (eg: ad-blockers, virus checkers, etc.) can cause unusual issues.

(Eg: Try turning off, and seeing if any difference, and using app provider's uninstaller if needed.)

All the best :-)
