Two Apple IDs causing Apple Music issue

I have a 20+ year old ID that I set up for iTunes. For the last 15 or so, I have had an Apple ID that I use with my icloud. Over the year, I have had various problems with this but there is no way to change the old one so I've had to make peace with the fact that merges over the year have meant some of my music is unplayable when I'm logged in with icloud. Anyway, the new and most annoying issue is that I all of a sudden can't log in to Apple Music on my phone. The old ID is linked to my Family, so should be fine, but it's not.

If I open Music on my mac, it's all fine and under account, both IDs show in the dropdown.

Can anyone help?

Hello, joeyf76.

We can understand how having two IDs can cause a bit of confusion. The best suggestion we can make is for you to pick one Apple ID and use that one going forward. Make sure that is the one that you use for the Family Sharing group as well. While you can have one ID for purchases and another for iCloud login, it can cause issues like this. You will need to use the same Apple ID for your purchases that you use for Family Sharing, otherwise you will not be able to share those purchases.
