I have a little core services UI agent window, shown in the picture below, which is stuck, and which I can't close. Clicking on the 'X' to cancel doesn't do anything. Command-Option-Escape to force quit, doesn't show the window among the possibilities.
Is there a way to close this, without having to reboot my system?
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.6
1 - Force Quit from Finder and chose the Offending Application
2 - Activity Monitor >> View ALL Process and choose the Offending Application or Process
To my eyes as per the supplied image above indications a Microsoft Presentation File " .pptx " is being moved from its' present destination to a location on the Drive itself.
Until the file has been completed copied to the destination location the UI will continue to appear.
If the file ( .pptx) files is too Big for the Local Destination ( ( Internal Drive ) to handle ? Given enough time, an Error Message should eventual be presented indicating what the problem might be.
Thanks. Only Option 2 works, since the CoreServicesUIAgent process does not show in the "Force Quit Applications" window.
If I force quit CoreServicesUIAgent via Activity Monitor, will it restart automatically when another app needs to be verified? I don't want to turn off app verification altogether.
Perhaps I am off the mark on that assertion( moving ) but the fact remains the file in question is from Older Version of MS Powerpoint ? and / or Size of File on the Internal Drive ?
Neither of which has had a meaningful clarification offered.
I can't tell the exact version of Powerpoint used to create the file, but it's not too old.
But I don't see how that's the issue. I don't have Powerpoint installed, I use Keynote.
The size of the file is 5mb.
We do not know if the User has read all the details regarding the Conversation of files to other file formats in Keynote
Nor do we know if the User has read the details on the File Formats compatible with Keynote.
Nor do we know if the current version. of Keynote installed on this computer is totally up-to-date

And if the files belongs to an Older Version of MS Powerpoint that is Not Compatible with Monterey Specifically - this can add to this issue
Yes, the file is a pptx MS Powerpoint file. But how can you tell there is a "file move operation" involved?

The question is how to close a stuck CoreServicesUIAgent window.
