Floating Keyboard

.Recently did upgrade to 14.1 I think. Now can’t get small keyboard to go away. Pinching fingers doesn’t work.

Touch-and-hold the “keyboard” key at bottom-right of the on-screen keyboard; without lifting your finger from the screen, slide your finger to the [Merge &] Dock option - then release.

Updating an iPad:

Do so by using a compatible device, and reliable connection.


I. Start Here: If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won’t Update - Apple Support


II. Verify Compatibility:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: General
  3. Tap: About
  4. View: the model shown

Then, see if the device is shown here:

A. Verify Compatibility:

Identify your iPhone model. The first thing that comes to mind in incompatibility being the culprit. So, confirm the model of your iPhone. If iPhone model is incompatible with iOS 16 then it is because you iPhone does not meet the hardware requirements for this iOS version(s).


B. If Compatible...


1. Back Up First:

IMPORTANT: If you have an option to update, however, then be certain you backup your iPhone first. That way, you will have something to restore your iPhone from should anything go wrong with the update
