Downtime affecting voice messages

so with the new IOS16 I’ve realized that when my downtime goes into effect, my voice messages are affected as well, since it is now an app within iMessages. Is there a way around this? I’m not sure how to undo this without taking off my screen time completely since I can’t seem to find it in my settings.

Screen Time Bypass via FaceTime on iOS There is an obscure glitch that my kids discovered, can anyone confirm? Once apps are locked by screen time, if a FaceTime call is made or received and the screen sharing and screen control function is used on that call, when the call terminates, all the apps locked by screen time become unlocked. I have been able to duplicate this multiple times. PS I was just alerted that this hack is circulating on social media, hopefully Apple developers are patching this. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Screen time request to imessage, why?? why the hell is my children's screen time now set to imessage? this feature is very broken. the request in a timely manner was fine, when it only came as a notification. before I had these come silently, now if I do this, of course the normal imessage sounds are not heard nor the normal text messages. why do you have to start blocking the messages program with this, when it worked fine before. Please Apple, go back to normal notification system, not the text message trash.

Thanks for reaching out zazyl,

It sounds like your preference is to use scheduled downtime but wanted to be able to allow voice messages. You're correct that you'd need to allow Messages in order for that to work. Here's more on how to use Downtime: Set up Screen Time for yourself on iPhone - Apple Support
