After upgrading to IOS 16.0.2 I don’t have a microphone button available in message app.
Anyone else? Any solution? I added voice recording app to the tool bar below the text box and that works for now.

Presume it’s a bug and an update will be coming soon. Shame really from Apple for such basic misses.

Have you tried going into Settings and making sure Dictation settings didn't get messed up? If it's not that, it might be a small bug in iOS.
How to turn on Dictation
