unable to sign into apple id icloud for windows

Hi guys. My icloud for windows app prompted me to log back in a few days ago. Each time I tried, I would get the message "Unable to sign you in to your Apple ID, Try again later." My password is accurate and I was able to sign into icloud.com. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarted my computer, switched bonjour off and on and I'm getting the exact same issue. Can anyone help please?

I encountered this issue and finally stumbled on an answer: Sign in to icloud.com by using Microsoft Edge, which should produce the usual two-factor prompt from your Apple devices. (I had been logging into iCloud via Firefox.) Now that Edge is trusted, sign in to iCloud for Windows. Because iCloud for Windows apparently relies on Edge WebView, it can now produce a two-factor prompt.

Definitely not intuitive. I discovered this fix because I looked at Task Manager while the iCloud for Windows login window was open and saw that iCloud had several Edge WebView subprocesses.
