my iMovie won't export and if it does it only exports partial video

Hi,

Sometimes a preference can go awry and cause export problems. Other causes can be some corruption in the project or insufficient space on the drive on which the iMovie application is located (not the passport destination drive for the movie).

Try rebooting and then deleting preferences. To delete preferences open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command

keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Possibly you may need to reboot again to set the changes.  Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.

Check to make sure that you have sufficient space on your application drive.

If still problems exporting, expand out your timeline and scroll through, looking for signs of corruption like black frames, white flashes, or artifacts. Cut out any that you find and export again.
