Add Music to Memories in iPhoto

Is there a way to add your own music to Memories in iPhoto, or can you only do it if you have an Apple Music subscription?

Memories are automatic and very limited. If you want to add your own music, you'll need to create your own slideshow project and do it there.

On the plus side it is very easy to drag all the images from a memory into a slideshow.
