Your model-number looks up to 17-in MacBook Pro, from 2009 to 2011 model.

The prohibitory symbol indicates that although your Mac appeared to be bootable, a major component of MacOS was found to be damaged or wrong version. Startup cannot continue.

You can try to repair the disk in recovery, but the usual solution is a MacOS re-install.

Hold Command-R at startup. This launches your on-disk Recovery software, if available.

Recovery provides the tools to launch Disk Utility and check the Disk Directory using the 'Repair' function.

If repair does not fix everything, Recovery also allow you to re-Install MacOS.

The version you are running appears to be 10.11 El Captain, so a re-install of the 'latest MacOS available for your Mac' would yield EXACTLY that version.
