After moving from iOS 15.x to 16.1, incoming messages no longer trigger the familiar red badge on the Messages app icon. I've tried every conceivable combination of notification settings changes, restarted the phone, etc. (As others have seen with this issue, badges for calls and email do appear ... just not for messages.) FYI, I do not have Focus enabled.

Thank you. I did call and talk to an advisor for about an hour and a half. She tried everything (and then some), but she could not get the badge to show. Ultimately she told me to wait it out and hope for a future bug fix.
