no video over vga connection to projector

When I connect my Mac book air to a projector using vga cable and playingy live tv on the Mac book I can hear the audio from the program, but not see the video. I think there must be a software patch to solve this, but I can't find one.

Troubleshooting Projector Video Input:

A. Verify the Inputs:

On the projector, be certain that VGA is selected for the input source

B. Uncover the Lamp:

See if there is a cover on the lamp. Perhaps you need to remove it?

C. Use HDMI:

HDMI has Audio & Video. So, that may be the be route to go.

D. Use of 4K:

If your video is of high-definition (4K), yet your projector is not 4K-compatible, then that would be a reason for this.

E. Contact the Manufacturer:

Contact the manufacturer, seeing what they have to say on this. Google their name, and then see if there is a support eMail address.
