Purchased Album No Longer Available in iTunes

I've been looking for a solution to this issue for quite some time. I purchased an album using iTunes a couple years ago. Apparently that album is no longer available on iTunes. The album shows up in my Music app, however I cannot download the actual media. If I right click on the tracks, it shows as "purchased" yet still no media and it no longer shows up in the an iTunes search. I've since found this album on Bandcamp. Is my only recourse to buy it again from another music library? I would hope that Apple honors past purchases.

Hello PenguinZim,

If the record label that owns the item has removed it from the iTunes Store, and you didn't download the purchase while it was still available, there would be no way to download it now.

You can try contacting Apple to see if they will issue a refund for that purchase. You can connect with their support here: Get Support

*Just select iTunes Store & App Store > Purchasing and downloading content > Continue, to access the contact options for their billing support.

Cheers!

Hey Jaym,

Thanks for your reply. It was downloaded at one point. But when I switched devices it has to be re-downloaded. That's when I started noticing this issue.

I've tried to open a case with Apple, however because the library is no longer there, I cannot select this purchase to file a complaint. Serious chicken/egg issue.

You would think that that Apple would honor their past purchases. Bummer.
