I am using TM to backup my MacBook. The backup is going to an external drive. This is working fine. I have a second external drive and on this drive, I have a folder that I want to backup. Is there a way to do this?
Thank You Barney-15E. I don't believe the drive is formatted this way. I just got the ssd drive and started creating Virtual Machine. This is the folder I wanted to backup. I now know what to do next time.
If the drive is a Mac format, it should be included in the backup. Check to make sure the drive is not excluded in Time Machine. To only backup the one folder, you would have to exclude the others.
Unless the VM is Time Machine aware, you shouldn’t use Time Machine to back it up. The VM is very large and every minor change will result in a full backup of the entire VM image.
