I no longer have my usual reading list on the left side of my Mac desktop

I no longer have my usual reading list on the left side of my Mac (version 11.7.1 & Safari version 16.1) desktop, where everything used to be in the book icon. Now, I find it on, what I think is called, my 'Home' page, that includes Favorites, Frequently Visited, Privacy Report then Reading list. Is this the new way that Reading list is accessed, now, or did I lose my original Reading list?
