If you turn on iCloud, you get 5 GB of free iCloud storage. Information such as contacts, calendars, bookmarks, notes, reminders, voice memos are stored in iCloud.

You must use the same Apple ID and Contacts will be sync to the other iPhone.

That is, if you turn iCloud -> On you get 5 GB of free iCloud storage, Contacts will be automatically saved to iCloud.

Contacts aren't backed up, since they are synced to whatever cloud or mail program you use.

Sign into said account on another iphone - and turn contacts on, not that phone will have all of your contacts any add or deletion will also be done on the original phone.
