I’d like to gift a celluar Apple Watch to my nephew, and add/pay for the watch on my cellular plan. Can I do that while still allowing his father to add the watch to his Family Setup to manage the device? Or is the only option me setting it up via my own Family Setup?
For Family Setup that watch gets its own separate plan, not tied to any iPhone at all, so you can pay for the independent plan and it doesn’t matter what iPhone is used to set it up with Family Setup. The only requirement is the Apple Id used with the watch must be part of the Family sharing group of the iPhone used for the set up.
