How can I reset an unlock code, NOT the Apple ID. My husband passes away and I do not know his passcode. Apple wants me to reset or erase the Iphone. I do not want to do that. There are pictures, texts and contact information which are important and precious to me. Please help.

You can’t. If you don’t know the passcode, the only option is to erase the device. Anything on it that was not backed up, synced to the cloud or stored elsewhere is gone.
