Edited photos are reverting to the originals when put into iMovie Library

After spending hours doctoring old photos for a birthday video in iMovie, the photos are reverting to the original when I put them into the iMovie Library. I have made 50 videos and have never had this problem. I Have a 2020 MacBook Pro, Ventura 13.0.1, and the most recent iMovie App (10.3.5). How can I maintain the edited photo in iMovie.

Hi, Jamie,

A bug in recent updates is causing the photos edits not to carry over. We'll need to wait for Apple to fix it.

Meanwhile, the workaround is to do a File/Export/__ no. of Photos from the Photos app to a folder on your desktop, and then drag the photos from the desktop into iMovie. The edits will carry over.
