Mail is not downloading the email contents in my Mac.
How can this problem be solved?

The user may start by Mail >> Preferences >> Privacy tab as per image below
The unTick any or All 3 setting and test.
Also, are there any AntiVirus or Ad Guard Applications installed and used on this computer ?
Some may be playing up and Blocked the Content in the e-mails
