Iphone iTunes Files Transfer to PC not working

My itunes is current.

I am having an issue transferring files from itunes to my PC.

Connect phone

Boot itunes

click on Files

See apps that allow file sharing

Click on app, see folders that contain files and correct folder size listed.

Problem :

None of the folders will open for me and while I am able to drag the folder from the itunes "files" window, dropping it in any windows explorer folder does nothing. There is no file copied, no progress bar, nothing happens. I likewise cannot right click on the folder in itunes to copy or cut. I cannot open any of the folders in any of the apps that allow file sharing to see the files inside. The window is not locking up and it is recognizing my mouse because it will let me rename the folder if I wish.

I've searched for this across the net before posting here and I've not been able to find anyone else having this issue. Somone in another thread suggested it might be a permissions issue with my destination folders but I have investigated that and its not the problem.

Could anyone point me in a direction ? I don't understand why Apple has made this so difficult in 2022.

Hi Icehammer, We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that you are experiencing issues sharing files between your iPhone and iTunes.

It sounds like you've done some amazing steps to troubleshoot the issue. Have you had the chance to try file sharing on a different computer? If yes, are you experiencing a similar issue?

In the meantime, let’s check for a software update and make sure that you are running the latest version of iOS.

While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest software version for your device can help isolate potential software issues.

Kindly secure a backup and update.
