I have 2 iphones - one for me and one for my daughter - she is getting MY texts on her phone- it seems some people text me successfully and some go to her phone - How do I differentiate teh 2 - both have 2 different phone numbers . Also I want to have parental controls on hers and not mine - What should I do ? THanks
Create a new Apple ID for your daughter and use it on her phone.
If 13 years old or older.
If under 13 years old, a parent will need to set up Family Sharing to create an ID.
Family Sharing and Apple ID for your child.
When changing to the new ID, make sure you turn off Find My Phone before signing out of the old ID. Once signed out and Find My Phone is off, then sign in with the new ID, then turn Find My Phone back on. There may be some data loss, but you can minimize it If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. You are welcome. Changing carriers shouldn't affect any of the data that is assigned to the Apple ID.
