New Mac Battery Drain Issue

I purchased a new (not refurbished) Macbook Air M2 256gb/16gb 3 days ago. However, my battery has been draining rapidly (we're talking 100% to 10-15% in 3-3.5 hours) ever since I bought it. For the first 2 days I was just setting up the Mac and didn't even use Chrome for very long. I don't know if I should take it to the service center or wait for a few days to see if the battery stabilises.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue?

Any comments would be super helpful and greatly appreciated!

Hey MacM2late,

We'd be happy to help out. It's very unlikely there's any kind of hardware issue since this is a brand new MacBook Air. It's also not unexpected for battery life to be slightly less than expected just after setting up your Mac or after updating it. It can take up to 72 hours for your Mac to adjust to the new software, as well as finish syncing new data over to it. If things haven't improved though, the following resource may help out: Batteries - Maximizing Performance - Apple

As mentioned earlier, it's very unlikely there's a hardware issue, but you can also check out the following resource for more info on determining it's current condition: Check the condition of your Mac notebook’s battery - Apple Support

We hope things have improved since you posted this, however if not, don't hesitate to let us know and hope the above information helps out as well.

Take care!
