This specific version of Catalina 10.15.2 was released Tuesday December 10, 2019

There have been many update to Catalina since then

The current Full Version of Catalina is version 10.15.7

Would suggest Restarting the Computer in Recovery Mode using the 2 keyboard combo Command r.

Once in that mode - Choose " Reinstall macOS "

This should in theory pull down the Most Recent version of Catalina and commence the installation.

If that goes well, there are several Security Updates still be downloaded

Reboot to safe mode, then try to update again.

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support (Takes more time to boot compared to normal boot)

NoteSafe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.
