My Eufy camera is not showing in the Homekit

Hi,

My Eufy app has been installed in my iPad and the Eufy camera has been added to the Home app (as home hub) of this iPad successfully, camera in both Eufy app and the Home app are working properly.

However, once I’m away from home with my iPhone (having the same Apple ID with the iPad), the camera in the Home app cannot display anything (see picture below) both in my iPad (still at home) and my iPhone (not at home); while the camera in the Eufy app is still displaying properly. And both return to normal once I’m back home with my iPhone.

Please share what’s the problem and how can this be fixed? Thank u.

Hey there eeki23,

Let's team up to rule out some possible causes, along with confirming some details to better understand the issue:

  1. You mentioned that this occurs when your iPhone is away from your home, but are still able to view what the Eufy camera sees in the Eufy app. Was there a time when you were able to view what the camera sees using the Home app, and if yes, when did this first start?
  2. Sometimes a restart resolves otherwise unexpected behavior: Restart your iPhone and Restart your iPad
  3. The latest for your iPad model is iPadOS 16.1.1. The latest for compatible iPhone models is iOS 16.1.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  4. We also recommend making sure that all apps are up to date on each device: How to manually update apps on your Apple device
  5. Have you checked for any firmware updates for the camera itself? If you're unsure of how to check, you'll need to reach out to Eufy Support to obtain the steps: How to contact an app developer

Cheers!

Ive had same problem, after restoring to factory defaults the 2 cameras i have, several times, it decided to start working correctly, that took me to a new issue, Live View works fine, but cameras ( both of them ) suddenly stop recording ( motion sense is set while im inside and when i leave the house ), even when motion is detected they dont record anything. Apple Support said it may be related to Apple One subscription, so i also got Icloud+ 200Gb plan extra, cameras recorded for some days, then, same issue again. Ive got this escalated with Apple, but its been 20 days of gathering info, sharing it to Apple and they still dont have a clue of what the problem may be.

Probably i will end up returning the cameras and going back to my old config that was recording to my NAS and loose the Homekit view and comfortability.
