How to zoom out

I don’t think it’s related. You can try a forced restart:

• Press and quickly release VOLUME UP
• Press and quickly release VOLUME DOWN
• Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears (15-30 seconds), ignoring "slide to power off" if it appears

The operative word here is QUICKLY; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky.

Double tap the screen with THREE fingers. Then go to Settings/Accessibility and turn off Zoom if you don’t want this feature.

You need THREE fingers to navigate, and double tap with THREE fingers (don’t try to resize with 2 fingers, it won’t work).
