I want to permanently turn off split screen on my iPad mini.

I use the mini to read books, and turning the page too often results in a second screen that needs to be closed. Split screen should be an OPTION that the user can turn off!

Unlike iPadOS14 and earlier versions, multi-tasking and associated split-screen/slide-over views cannot now be disabled from settings. Multi-tasking has received a significant overhaul, both simplifying its use and introducing new controls.

Key to accessing and controlling (or avoiding) multi-tasking is the small “three-dot” button that is found at the top-centre edge of App windows.
