Pictures - External Hard Drive Storage & Duplicates

Hi,

I have enough pictures to easily exceed my MBP internal hard drive capacity.

Is it possible to use one external hard drive and partition it so I can have the time machine backup go to one partition and store the pictures on the other partition?

I am also seeking feedback on what you recommend to delete duplicate pictures (apps, software) particularly given they will have to stored on an external hard drive. I have 10k-20k pictures so anything to make the process easier to clean up the folders and files would be awesome...

Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

You’ll need to use a separate drive for your external media and Time Machine.

the latest version of MacOS includes duplicate finding as part of the Photos app. There may be additional options in the App Store that will find duplicate files.
