SIM stopped working in myiPad after upgrade to ios16

How do i get my UK SIM to work in my ipad cellular version after upgrade to ios16 has stopped it working, and I cannot see an option under Mobile data to set it up. it worked fine before the upgrade and allowed me to input APN settings but now i get a screen asking for settings that look nothing like the ones i used before, and not what i have been provided by Lebara

Not all SIM cards are usable with iPad - in particular Phone SIMs, the majority of which cannot be used with iPad. An iPad, in common with other tablet computers, requires a DataSIM.


If your iPad does not recognise your SIM, you’ll need to seek assistance from your Cellular Provider. A replacement SIM, specifically provisioned for iPad, may be required.

Thanks, that's an interesting point. But to be clear - it worked fine, right up until i upgraded to iOs 15.7.1 and then 16. I have been using it as a data service for several months before this happened, on the same SIM.


But I will indeed check with my provider whether this is a thing - though i would hoe it is not as i spent 2 hours on chat with them over two different sessions and at no time did they suggest this was necessary
