how do I backup iPhone XR to MacBook PRO?

Just got a new MacBook PRO and wanted to install iTunes to back up my iPhone XR. iTunes is no longer compatible with macOS Monterey. What do I use and how do I connect my iPhone XR to backup and sync it?

Backups are handled in the Finder, and syncing is done from applications specific to each content type. Click here for more information.
