Enabling Advanced Data Protection

Hi there.

I added two recovery contacts, and then I tried enabling Advanced Data Protection. When enabling ADP, it asked me for my Mac password. I typed it in, and it kept saying it was wrong. When I clicked Cancel, it still says that ADP is off, but when I go to iCloud Drive in the Finder it doesn't sync, and iCloud.com says "There was a problem loading this content."

I did receive emails from Apple saying that ADP was turned off.

I need help, and I don't want my iCloud data gone forever. Thank you.
