junkmail folder is empty

I just got a new mac Ventura 13.1 and I have problems with my junk mail folder.

The folder is always empty also the bin is always empty so I can't even check if I get emails which might not be junk.

any suggestion where I can change the settings for this?

your help would be much appreciated.

Try checking your active email accounts and settings; somehow the one you use might have conflicting settings with another device. Happens to me too and highly suspicious, unless you just set up the computer. 😠 And good luck checking settings; although Apple seems to be cleaning that up, the app is labyrinthine and there are often several places to adjust the same things, and it’s cluttered by what very well may be unnecessary controls.
