GarageBand 10.3.4 Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 "Initializing Core Audio"?

I have a macbook Pro 2019 model running macOS Monterey 12.5. When I use GarageBand 10.3.4 connecting a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, I get frequent interruptions of "Initializing Core Audio" popup message. When this happens the recording signal coming from the Scarlett is interrupted. This ruins that section of the recording. Usually I record that whole track over again, I am creating 60 or 90 second guitar tracks, so redoing the whole track has been best. The "Initializing Core Audio" popup clears very quickly, a second or so. doesn't seem to have a root cause. I've tried selecting the input to be the focusrite input 1 and focusrite input 2. The problem seems to keep happening. Does any one have any tips to help fix this?

Have you tried a new cable? Could it be intermittent?

Other than that, try to contact Focusrite for a possible driver update.
