I have an extensive filing system for my documents. I find that I must have misfiled many of my files into wrong folders under wrong headings.
When I use the search feature under "Finder" app, files are listed but it does not show WHERE they have been put. Under which category or folder? Is there a way to track them back to where they are now? Or do I have to move them all out onto the desktop and start over?

Use Spotlight Search:
[Hold Down +command + Press: spacebar] > Type a file name > Press return. Anything Pop Up?

Control-click one and choose Show in Enclosing Folder.

Thanks! Yes a list of files popped up.
Then, if I highlight the file, and press "command" the location of the file is shown in a line at the bottom of the page.
