leaving Apple One Individual plan to join a shared Family plan

Something is not clear for me. I want to switch to Apple One Family plan and share the service among family members. Some of them have Apple One Individual plan. Do they have to cancel their Individual plan after joining the Family plan I shared with them? Or does it happen automatically? What happens with all the music and whatever data they have?

A big thanks for the person who can sum it up in a simple way.

These two documents talk about what happens in the iCloud context. Basically the family member gets to decide (presumably there is a notification) about keeping their own subscription or going for the family one.

Unfortunately Apple doesn't exactly say what happens in the scenario you describe. My inclination would be to see if family members get transferred automatically, or if they get notifications. If they don't then tell them about the family plan and they should cancel one they have signed onto your shared plan.
