Apple TV 4K - shows fail to start across numerous apps

for the last few weeks, several apps ( Apple TV+, Netflix and Prime ) refuse to play an episode, unless you cancel and retry a number of times. Disney+ works fine as does my own content.

Even the auto play feature stops and you need to play, cancel, play, cancel to continue.

I have removed and re-added the apps, but still hasn't resolved this.

any thing else I can check?
