Hey there

I have the exact same issue after updating to watchOS9.2.

I use to get 16 hours+ out of my watch, even with a workout everyday and all day use. Now I am lucky to get 6 hours, and I am already on 30% by lunch time most days.

I complained to Apple and had my watch replaced under Applecare+ but still no change in battery life. I have completed all the steps outlined in every article or post I have found online and spoken to Apple about it. My new watch is only 7 days only, on 100% battery health and last about 6 hours.

I am at a loss at this point and now just hoping for a new update to come out soon whilst I charge my watch about 3 times a day.

Watch uses a LOT of battery

First check for damaged battery...

Charge the watch to 100% at bedtime.

Take it off charge,

Turn it OFF - hold in side button til you see the sliders and tap the tiny off button, top right. Confirm off with slider.

In the morning turn it back on and it should be at least 95%. If NOT then the battery is damaged.

If the battery is OK then unpair the watch and then pair it again.

Test the watch for a day.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Set up your Apple Watch

If it still discharges unpair it and pair it again without restoring the backup.

Check that the iPhone is not using any security apps or VPN that can affect apps on the Watch. You don't need any of them and they can be incompatible with iOS16 on the phone.

I read your response, however why is a watch that’s not even a year old, only lasting 6-13 hours after the last two updates when prior to updates it was lasting 18-24 hours? I sent my watch in for repair and they sent it back after resetting it saying the issue wasn’t able to be duplicated. Yet here I am again with a battery not lasting through an 8 hour work day.
