moving from my own icloud storage (2.99 a month) to family plan--

I am joining a family plan with my family--it will cover my icloud storage needs so do I just make a copy before cancelling the storage and jumping to the new plan?

Your data stays where it is and continues to be accessed using your own Apple ID. Only the billing and amount of storage available changes. Your current plan will automatically be canceled and refunded when you switch. To change to the Family plan, see the "Switch from your personal iCloud+ plan to your family plan" section of Share iCloud+ with your family - Apple Support including the following:

If a family member is already paying for their own iCloud+ plan, they can choose to switch to your plan or keep their own and still remain part of the family. When they switch to the shared family plan, they get a refund for the remainder of their personal plan. They can't keep their current plan and use the shared family plan at the same time.

Thank you for your reply! I have no idea if this will resolve on its own, but I had a family plan for storage (but my family never joined it for various reasons.) Then my husband decided to sign up for an Apple Music family plan and invited the rest of us. When I signed up for his plan, it called me the owner of the plan, even though that's not correct. Then it called our son the owner when he signed up. I can't tell how to cancel the $2.99 plan I had though--hopefully Apple cancelled it when I joined my husband's family plan, but if you can tell me how to check that, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!
