Notes App draining battery

After updating to iPad OS 16 I noticed an increase in battery drain while using the Apple notes app.

I usually edit notes on an iCloud folder so I understand there might be some network usage, but not to the point of draining 75%-80% of my battery CONSISTENTLY and almost halving my battery life.

not to mention the fact that the app overall has been performing awfully after the update, as stated by other peers as well.

I think someone on the dev team should do better.

p.s. I use it on an M1 iPad Pro so lack of computing power shouldn’t be an issue and also I already turned off background app refresh.

Hi LorenzoBardelli,

Closing the Notes app and reopening it should refresh the app to the network and operating system. Let's see if that helps with the battery usage:

Quit and reopen an app on iPad – Apple Support

  1. "To quit an app, open the App Switcher, then swipe up on the app.
  2. To reopen the app, go to the Home Screen (or the App Library), then tap the app."

We also recommend restarting your device and keeping it updated as those steps assure you have cleared out any minor software issues and are running the most current version.
