unable to drag files to an itunes folder

iTunes supports three kinds of playlists. Regular, smart, and folders. Folders can only contain folders and other playlists. What type of playlist are you trying to drag to? You can only drag content to the library itself (top of the sidebar), or a regular playlist (again use the sidebar).

You should be able to drag files from iTunes or Explorer to a regular iTunes playlist. Smart playlists and playlist folders are based on rules, you cannot add content to either manually.

what do u mean by manully? I have a folde on the desktop and want to drag somngs to a playlist and all I get is the black circle with diagonal line thru it and unable to drag them to a playlist
